AMX Global Season 5 Recap: A Thrilling End to an Epic Sim Racing Season
The curtain has fallen on Season 5 of the AMX Sim Racing World Championship, a thrilling journey that captivated 107 sim racers over the course of 12 intense weeks. From May 25th to August 18th, competitors engaged in 24 race days, totaling 48 races and 50 hours of high-octane virtual racing action. The competition spanned across a diverse range of cars and tracks, pushing sim racers to their limits and providing fans with unforgettable moments.

Elite Participation:
Season 5 attracted notable real-world racers, including Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen and sim racing star Chris Lulham, showcasing the increasing crossover appeal of sim racing. The competition also featured top sim racing teams from around the world, including Team Redline, Drago Racing, Apex Racing Team, SimRC, Delinte eSports, and FNM Virtual Team. This blend of real-world talent and elite virtual racing expertise highlighted the depth and appeal of sim racing as a competitive platform.
Prize Tiers and Entry Requirements:
To cater to different levels of sim racers, Season 5 featured three distinct tiers, each with its own prize structure and entry requirements:
- AMX20: Designed for elite sim racers, AMX20 featured a $20 entry fee and required a minimum of 4,000 iRating. Each of the 6 races had a total prize pool of $1,000, making for a season total of $6,000.
- AMX5: Targeted at experienced sim racers, AMX5 had a $5 entry fee and required a minimum of 2,000 iRating. This category featured 36 races, including 6 ACC races, each with a total prize pool of $250, adding up to $9,000 for the season.
- AMX Zero: Open to all, AMX Zero was free to enter with no minimum iRating requirement, making it accessible to newcomers and casual racers. This tier included 6 races, each with a total prize pool of approximately $73, contributing to a season total of around $440.
Top Sim Racers:
The competition was fierce, but a few sim racers stood out with their exceptional performances:
- Gael Valero - Dominated the leaderboard with total earnings of $1,233.70, participating in 28 AMX5 races and all 6 AMX20 races.
- Bruno do Carmo - A close second with total earnings of $1,011.35, competing in 29 AMX5 races and 5 AMX20 races.
- Jackson Rezende - Secured third place with total earnings of $795.60, participating in 28 AMX5 races and all 6 AMX20 races.
- Pedro Dean - Earned $685.00, taking part in 25 AMX5 races and all 6 AMX20 races.
- David Toth - Rounding out the top five, Toth earned $646.00, participating in just 3 AMX5 races but all 6 AMX20 races.
These sim racers showcased their skills and consistency across multiple tiers, proving themselves to be formidable competitors throughout the season.
